In December 2020 we ran a Christmas Story Competition. The winning stories can be read here:
Adult Category:
Dressing up for Christmas by Paul Vousden - joint winner adult category
Very Good Elf by Rupert Huxter - joint winner adult category
The judge, Paula Metcalfe, said of the winning stories: "The stories are all great! In the adult section they were all excellent but there were particularly two that I couldn't choose between. Dressing Up for Christmas was really intriguing and I had to read it a couple of times to work it out. It was like a riddle but also quite moving. Very Good Elf was very witty and clever, with an excellent punchline."
Secondary School Age Group
The Present Thief by William Langridge
Comment by Paula Metcalfe: "Again, extremely clever plot, also a lovely, magical ending! I can actually imagine it as a beautiful picture book for little children."
Primary School Age Group
One Magical Christmas by Emma Squance
Comment by Paula Metcalfe: "I loved the imagination of One Magical Christmas. All sorts of fun and chaos in there!"
